ASEND LAUNCHING: CAREER ORIENTATION AS A GEAR UP TO NATION BUILDING

     In times like now wh en things are monotonous, sceptic and schematic the purpose of career orientation becomes a very important topic to be discussed as a community. It is for this reason that the Association of Engineering and Medical Students, ASEND  has decided to take out time to organize a special career orientation program to play an important role in curriculum that supports:  1. Students' strengths, interests and aspiration 2. Students achievements 3. Students risk of poor outcomes 4. Students making informed decisions about their subject choice and pathways.     More importantly, this program will go a long way to support students to access decent work, and education or training opportunities that will provide access to a source of income, social contact, purposeful activity, and some healthy challenges, the reason we choose to start our preparatory classes with the program so as to expose the ideal student to a world of variety and opportunities and expectations. ONCE MORE WE CAUSED THE WAVES OF THE SEA TO MOVE!!! January 26 th saw her crew in Limbe the town of friendship after it was alleged and prophets (students) had foretold our coming. That day saw the launching of the evening preparatory classes at Espoir College, for Advance Level GCE candidates who want to hail “I made it senior” come August 2020. The Association of Engineers and Medical Doctors, ASEND, heavily represented by: the General supervisor in person of Engineer David Baar, the Vice General Coordinator in person of Fondong Zidane, the Engineering Coordinator for Buea and Limbe Asonganyi Rouclec and the guest speakers; Engineer Mpako Enongene Ivo and student Doctor Obi Bessem, FHS Buea, who hold key responsibilities in ASEND inspired the students and urged them not to “settle for less” as they embark   on this brave journey, “The Academic journey”.
